This cartoon contains two very subtle subliminal messages. First, the numbers on the runners' shirts represent my birth month of December and my birth date of the 19th. Clever, eh? Second, I wrote the words "Geoff ♥ Em," where my signature would normally go. Em is short for Emily D., a girl I dated occasionally my senior year in high school. At the time, she thought it was flattering that I put her name in my cartoon, but in retrospect, I wonder if it really was such a great tribute after all... I mean, what girl wants to be memorialized in a cartoon advocating cat abuse?
