That was a little too weird, even for me; so in my version, I tried to find humor instead in the waiter's reluctance to have a duck consumed. It is left to the reader's imagination whether the duck on the menu is the same duck as the waiter.

Although mostly original, this cartoon was inspired by an episode in Douglas Adams' novel The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. In one part of the book, the main characters go to a restaurant where the waiter is a cow who had been specially trained to want to be eaten. As a consequence, the cow encourages the characters to order beef.
