Curried Functions This cartoon appears in the book Computation Engineering: Applied Automata Theory and Logic by Dr. Ganesh Gopalakrishnan.

This is perhaps my favorite of the Scheme-based cartoons. In contrast to the other two (where all the characters live and breathe Scheme), this one shows a more realistic view of the world.

One might say that I'm mocking Scheme programmers in this cartoon, but there is an alternate interpretation. Indeed, this comic portrays the fortitude of the Schemer. While the waiter stares in confusion, and the date hangs her head in embarrassment, the Schemer is unabashed. Likewise, most Scheme devotees care little about the relative unpopularity of Scheme in industry. Schemers know what they like, and they stick to it. Such unflinching commitment to any cause (even if it is just a programming language) is admirable, to say the least.
