In an indirect way, I guess this cartoon is a tribute to the great 1980's cartoonist
Gary Larson of Far Side fame. I rarely do cartoons about cows, since Mr.
Larson does such a masterful job in that department already. In fact, this one
is so painfully Far Side-ish that Gary Larson might well have already done
it. I haven't read enough Far Side anthologies to know for sure. As far as I
know, however, this is an original composition.
Drawing this cartoon taught me precisely how out of practice I was at cow-drawing.
It took me a long time just to get it looking mediocre. Perhaps that explains why I have not
attempted another cow cartoon either before or after this one.
